Enhancing Developer Productivity with Office XP

As developers we need ways to document our duties, tasks and plans. In this article James shows us a couple of handy tips and tricks using Microsoft Office XP.I will be the first to air my contempt for Microsoft in terms of how the company has operated. However, I cannot deny my affinity for some of the features I've found in its productivity suite—some of which I've not found in comparable products such as OpenOffice.org 1.0 Office Suite. While Microsoft Office is never going to be the preferred code-editor of this or most web development professionals, it does have capabilities web developers can leverage to increase their productivity significantly.

This article discusses how these capabilities can aid in project planning/design as well as generating code. Though some sections will include somewhat detailed instructions, all will assume the user understands basic computer, word processing, database and spreadsheet concepts, such as saving files, primary keys, rows and columns, finding and replacing text, etc.
