More Uses for the jQuery Tooltip Plug-in`s bodyHandler Option
Welcome to the final installment of a series on the jQuery Tooltip plug-in. In seven approachable tutorials, this series shows you how to use this powerful JavaScript application to create all sorts of eye-popping tooltips for your web page links. This will make them much more accessible and usable to your potential visitors.
More Uses for the jQuery Tooltip Plug-in`s bodyHandler Option (Page 1 of 4 )
Having already outlined the main goal of this group of articles, it’s time to refresh the concepts discussed in the preceding tutorial. In that article I went through the development of a simple image preview mechanism, which allowed you to easily visualize the full-sized version of a thumbnail graphic by means of a tooltip created with the “bodyHandler” option.
As you’ll possibly recall, this argument allows you to include HTML code in the tooltips, thus making it easy to modify their default visual appearance and behavior. Based on the flexibility and customization provided by the Tooltip plug-in, however, it’s possible to create different image-based tooltips simply by adding and removing their incoming arguments at will.
Therefore, in this last part of the series I’m going to demonstrate how to build a couple of image-based tooltips, similar in many aspects to the one that you learned in the previous article. In this case, though, they’ll behave differently in each example, since I’m going to tweak some of their input options.
