The Accordion Component in the AJAX Control Toolkit - The page displayed on the browser

Only one of the panes is chosen for the display in the next picture. This was displayed using IE.7.0. The Accordion functions as it should. The Link pops up another window and the calendar control is active.

How does it get displayed in other browsers?

For Rich Internet Applications where the client sits in the driver's seat, the page should function equally well on most if not all browsers. This was tested on two other browsers in addition IE 7.0. The next two pictures show the JAccordion.aspx browsed using the Opera 9.02 and FireFox 2.0 browsers.

    Opera 9.01

    In FireFox 2.0.0.1

    Summary

The Accordion control works equally well in all tested browsers except for the color rendering of the panes. It is possible that this may be due to not using the templates. There was no loss in functionality of the Accordion including the Calendar Control (month and date changes were active) in any of the browsers.

The flutter observed in IE 7.0 did not improve by making the Transition Duration to 600 ms. However it did improve a little bit when the FramesPerSecond attribute was added with 60 frames/second. The flutter in FireFox and Opera did not improve, except that FireFox fared better than Opera. The Microsoft AJAX web site is well documented. Please read the cited article to make comparisons between the two, one proprietary, the other open source.
