    The jQuery Tooltip Plug-in

The popular jQuery JavaScript framework is not only useful on its own; it also boasts a growing list of plug-ins that come in handy for a variety of purposes. This seven-part article series focuses on just one of those plug-ins, the jQuery Tooltip. This versatile application can give your site visitors helpful information, and make your site more dynamic.

As you may have noticed, jQuery has gained tremendous popularity in the terrain of JavaScript frameworks. This comes as no surprise, since the library offers a pretty flat learning curve and a robust set of features that allow programmers to develop client-side applications very quickly, in a truly effortless fashion.

From advanced DOM manipulation and creating sophisticated animations, to working with Ajax, jQuery seems to suit the requirements of web designers who don't want to deal with the complexities inherent in JavaScript as a programming language. However, one of the most impressive facets of jQuery is the growing number of plug-ins available for it nowadays, which expand its existing functionality even more.

Indeed, jQuery plug-ins come in all flavors, ranging from classic form validation applications and data grids to neat image rotators. The list goes on and on. Covering each of these individually would be a pretty challenging task.

Yet there's a plug-in that deserves a closer look. It's very easy to learn and use, and is quite useful for enhancing the accessibility of web sites. In this case, I'm speaking of the jQuery Tooltip, a JavaScript application developed by Jörn Zaefferer that permits you to assign pop-up notes next to multiple selected elements on a web page. Moreover, the plug-in supports many customization parameters, such as the inclusion of dynamic HTML, different formatting options, fade-in and out animations and much more.

Therefore, in this group of articles I'll be explaining how to master the main features offered by the jQuery Tooltip plug-in, so you can start including it in your own web pages very quickly. Now, are you ready to begin learning how to put this handy jQuery plug-in to work for you? Click on the link below and start reading.
