    Macromedia Captivate Review

Today we are going to take a look at Captivate by Macromedia. With Captivate, you can create interactive simulations and software demonstrations. If you have a need to create a product demonstration, some robust documentation, or even interactive training demos then Captivate may be just the tool you need.

What does all of this mean in laymans terms?  Well, you can use Captivate to record your actions on the computer.  It can record everything you do on screen, including each mouse click, each letter you type, each program you execute. It can even record narration as you execute the on-screen actions. In essence, Captivate acts like a big tape recorder for your computer screen.

Once you have created your “movie”, you can then publish it to one of many formats, including Flash (SWF) to be used independantly or on a webpage, or standalone which creates a windows or linux exe file.
