jQuery Vertical Mega Menu

You want your site to be user-friendly and easy to navigate.  That is hard to do if your menu system is out of whack.  Having a detailed menu system that flows freely will help your visitors get to their destination of choice quickly.   The jQuery Vertical Mega Menu plugin specializes in this, and is a great addition to your plugin collection.

The plugin works by letting you create vertical mega menus using nested lists.  This allows visitors to view various menu options for each of the top-level menu items in a clear and concise format.  The plugin offers great flexibility and plenty of customization options to help you create the perfect menus.  You can adjust where the menus pop out, set the speed at which they appear, and choose their animation effects.  So that your site is accommodated properly, the plugin also lets you define the number of sub-menus for each row.

Cloud Zoom

Cloud Zoom is a great plugin to have if you own a retail site.  It allows visitors to hover over parts of images to see a zoomed view.  You may be familiar with the widely used jQZoom plugin.  Cloud Zoom is similar, but it comes with extra features, better browser compatibility, and is also smaller.

Cloud Zoom is free and integrates easily with basic HTML.  The plugin offers different zooming options to give your website the look you desire.  You can use its inner zoom to zoom directly within the smaller image.  You can also use the soft focus effect if you want to clarify the zoomed area and blur the rest of the image.  For some added flair, there's even an option to add tints to images when zooming.

AJAX-ZOOM

AJAX-ZOOM is another plugin that is great for any retail site.  If you are looking to showcase your products from every angle, this is the plugin to do so.  Websites for cars, real estate, shoes, and more seem like perfect candidates for AJAX-ZOOM.  Besides simple zooming in and out, AJAX-ZOOM allows users to pan and rotate 360 degrees with the use of a mouse.  The resolution of the images is unaffected, giving visitors the opportunity to explore at will.  The plugin boasts an astounding 250 different options, so even the pickiest designers will have their needs met.

Besides the improved look that AJAX-ZOOM gives images, it also protects them from copyright infringement.  This is a real plus for site owners who worry about others stealing their images.  AJAX-ZOOM is easy to implement and does not require browser plugins such as Flash, Java, or Silverlight to run.  You can download the demo version of AJAX-ZOOM for free, and commercial licenses are available at varying costs.

qTip

Looking for a solid tooltip jQuery plugin?  If so, qTip fits the bill.  This free plugin can be used to implement highly customized tooltips into your project to provide users with extra information as needed.

There are plenty of features packed into qTip that make it useful.  It works with all major browsers and has integrated feature detection that will disable any of its unsupported features.  This comes into play if a visitor has JavaScript disabled, for example.  The tips can be customized to give you the exact look to fit your site.  You can customize their color, width, height, effects, and more.  There are six tip templates that come pre-installed for quick use.  Positioning tips is easy, and they can be stacked if necessary.  Pretty much any tooltip feature you need is in qTip, and that makes it yet another plugin worthy of a download.
